Story
Ok, a few days ago I gave Byzy £10 for a Server. Days passed and I did not see him online, until this morning just as I thought that damn Canuck had ran off with my money he came online and told me he had bought a server as I had asked him to do.

So firstly, thanks Byzy for getting a Server and putting in a few more bucks for it.

Now, Server Information:

Name of the server: Wanderers Clan Server (We're better than UKR) -Yes, that is actually the full name of the server. It's our revenge for the Fail song they gave us
IP: 92.48.118.82:27115
Slots: 12! - Yes! 12! I will be looking at temp mods that I can put on there so that we can have more fun (and also have more Zoeys in the process, everybody wins)

About Admins: I'm currently installing source mod for the server and sorting it out, if you want to be an admin PM me on the forums or contact me on Steam/Xfire. Please note that I'll only give it to people I trust.

Mods Suggestions: Make a thread in the Left 4 Dead forums and I'll consider it, as I said I'll be looking into mods.

Custom Maps: Not many that really stand out apart from the obvious Death Aboard and...POWERSTATION!!!111oneoneone.
- Death Aboard v6.1 is coming out soon, I'll wait for that to come out before Adding it. (Read the fixes for this version here: http://www.l4dmods.com/index.php?option=co...s&Itemid=13)
- Powerstation is going to be installed soon.

One more thing, I added a Left 4 Dead Subforum for Squad Tactics, feel free to post your tactics in there. (Already moved the original tactics thread in there)

Oh yeah. Also. Byzy. You fail. I had to go into ACP and change my rights to post here. (Guests could post here, but HFPers could not. Fail.)

OMFG GOD Kevin get out of my head. I was going to ask about how to make a sub fourm for topics so others cant see. And I was going to get a server once i started working again.

Now how does this whole dedi work with L4D? I've been playing this game for days and have yet to fully comprehend this.
When people create lobbies and play does it just connect to one of these servers or what? And if so then how do I make it always connect to the clan server!?
Ughh....so many questions.

valve was kind enough not to let us have a server browser, this will make it open, then you should be allowed to add it to favorites, or just add it to xfire favorites and join from there..

what?! lol ive been using the server browser ever since i got the game, just press ` (console key) and type openserverbrowser

ALSO to always connect to your server from the lobby, use, " ms_force_dedicated_server *your Server IP here* "

Just thought I'd update this:

Server is going down in a few days. Sorry guys. My fault mainly, myself and Byzy just haven't had the time to fix the server recently because of work. To my knowledge we asked the server company to fix the server but they only reset it which in turn broke it again. Eventually we gave up and haven't had time to fix it since.

I came to a decision to stop the server for now. With L4D2 coming out in a few months it makes no point to have a L4D1 server. The only reason a server is needed is for leagues; I'm pretty sure joining a league for a game that will probably be dead in a few months is pointless. (although, saying that the L4D DLC was supposed to be announced last week but got delayed; depending on the info on the DLC I may consider buying another server)

Thought I'd make a paragraph about DLC info

- Was supposed to have info released last week
- Infected ability bar reported to be one of the features (so you can see how long until boomer/smoker recharges)
- Original Voice actors have been reported to record new lines for the DLC; What could this mean? new infected, campaign or even a mode. My bets on a new campaign though as I read an article earlier in the week about the proposed DLC and it seems like a safe bet. (was gonna link the article but it's been deleted I think)

Well Kevin don't worry anymore about getting your server back up again.


I got one. Its located in NY and before you start to say that you will have bad pings test the server first.
type "ping 208.167.245.183:27015" in to Cmd and it will tell you your ping to that server.
I have a topic up asking for ideas.
Also to connect to the server just type "ms_force_dedicated_server 208.167.245.183:27015" into console as lobby leader to join.
If you want to check the server just to see how it feels type "connect 208.167.245.183:27015"
