WTF Happened?!?!

Soooo, it's apparently been more than 3 years since the last forum crash. We had such a good record going.
Last night I was playing around with stuff for WND, writing some stuff for our ongoing history project (that is still mostly unreleased) when I thought 'man, wouldn't it be great if I could get our old database up and running to see those posts from 4+ years ago?' Now, I tried to do this in 2008 and I wrecked the forum database back then as well. Of course, back then I was just taking a stab in the dark to see if it would work or not. We were able to roll back the server, if memory serves and all was well. So that was two years ago.
Last night, I admittedly had a couple drinks and thought it'd be a great idea to try to get the database working again. I figured that uploading an older, differently named database would simply plop it on the webserver and I'd be free to do with it as I pleased.
Nope.
What happened is it started overwriting our CURRENT database. As I now know, when restoring a database, its default action is to DROP duplicate tables (aka, delete). I didn't realize this for awhile and just sat there while the server 'restored the database.' Once I noticed, I canceled the action ASAP, but we lost at least 2 years worth of posts and it trashed our forums. I didn't make a backup either. I don't know why. I should've learned my lesson to back up EVERYTHING before I touch ANYTHING. But, like I said, I was a touch buzzed. Buuuut I wasn't worried because I had made a backup just a couple months ago. No problem, right?
Wrong. I made a back up of everything except the database. Shit.
So I went to Raith (webhost guy) to see if he can roll back the server. "Yeah sure, no problem. ...wait. WTF. My backup system is dead!" ..Shit.
He tried reinstalling our forums for us. I tried doing whatever tweaks I could to get them working properly again. No-go.
So I went ahead and created a new forum for us. Believe me when I say no one is more crushed by this turn of events than I am. Just know that we now have a brand new blank canvas to terrorize here.
TL;DR version: I tried uploading a new database, it overwrote our current one, didn't have a backup, our backup's backup failed, so I created new forums.
Lo-fi version of our old boards (seems to work the best): http://www.wanderers...sion/index.php/
All posts made later than 2008ish will appear as blank.
We lost all but 12 pages of the quote thread. GOD #@%@#$^# DAMN.
I'd like to encourage everybody to re-register here. The clan is still very much alive and I love you all. I've disabled validation for now to make it easier for everybody.
I'm going to need everyone's help to get people back here, and to make these forums home again. I'll re-post some threads with whatever we have left, and I'll be coming up with a new skin that's not nearly as annoying as this default one.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY VIDEO. LOOK WHAT I DID FOR IT!

I am going to miss the last 2 years of posts in the quote thread the most. ;_; (although most of them were pretty bad)
This might be a blessing in disguise if I'm honest. WND has been quite inactive for some time so I'm hoping that with a new forum we can start fresh and bring in a few new faces around here.

Holy crap!
Did you guys know our site has a mobile version now!?
I'm on my iPod and it's so nice. I feel like our forums are already better than before.

I'm kinda freaked out... I didn't set that as my avatar!
I have no idea how it found that unless Byz did it.
But I found my old Christmas one!
